Aladdin Capital Holdings has announced the formation of a debt capital markets group to cover corporate and financial institution clients for financing and liability management transactions.

The group will provide financing alternatives including public bonds, private placements, and various structured products. It will also advise and execute liability management solutions for issuing clients.

Neal Neilinger, vice chairman and chief investment officer of Aladdin (pictured), says: ‘As global credit capacity remains constrained from risk-reducing traditional liquidity providers such as commercial banks, the new issue bond market has seen more volume by far in the first quarter of 2009 than in any other quarter in history. We believe this trend will continue through 2009 and beyond as companies become more reliant on institutional sources of long-term debt capital and remain focused on managing their liability structure. The appointment of this team is a critical step in the evolution of Aladdin and adds a valuable and important dimension to our business.’

The DCM group will be headed by Matthew Eastwick, while financial institutions and private placements will be led by Rock Fu and John Kjorlien respectively.

Eastwick will serve as managing director, head of debt capital markets at Aladdin. Prior to joining Aladdin, he spent 15 years in various capital markets, structuring and product development roles. He previously held positions at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch.

Fu will act as managing director and head of financial institutions, debt capital markets at Aladdin. Most recently, he was a team leader and debt capital markets officer at Bank of America Securities, where he was a senior coverage officer for US financial institutions.

Kjorlien will serve as managing director, head of private placements, debt capital markets at Aladdin. He comes to Aladdin with several years of experience in capital raising and relationship management, most recently as managing director at Centre Capital Advisors where he provided investment banking services to small and medium sized businesses, with a primary focus on raising debt and equity capital.
