Viteos Fund Services, a global hedge fund administrator and middle office outsourcing operations service provider, has launched the Viteos Managed Account Platform.

The platform is designed to meet hedge funds’ increasing demand for administration and middle office services for managed accounts. It provides a holistic processing solution to meet the additional processing and reporting challenges associated with running managed accounts.

Viteos says managed account platforms and proprietary managed accounts are increasingly being made available to investors by hedge fund managers. In an industry shift, investors are favouring a particular manager’s investment strategy and style but may seek an individual investment vehicle rather than a ‘pooled’ hedge fund. Managed accounts provide this option.

Managers can provide a dual offering – thereby increasing the opportunity to grow AUM. However, managed accounts create additional operating overhead for the hedge fund managers and it is the additional processing overhead that the Viteos platform addresses.

The platform enables hedge fund managers to service accounts in a cost effective manner, and limits a hedge fund’s requirements for additional systems and staff.

All the services of the Viteos platform are now provided via the firm’s enhanced web delivery platform, Asttra.

Shankar Iyer, chief executive, says: ‘The financial stresses of the last year have led to adaptations on the part of hedge funds to better provide information and access to accounts for investors. At Viteos, we are committed to helping these managers service managed accounts and to provide reporting that anticipates investor needs. Our Platform gives managers the ability to enter the managed accounts arena with the confidence that they have the infrastructure in place that is required. This frees them to focus on gaining capital and executing their strategies.’
