Related Topics

Investment management firm M.D. Sass has appointed Jason Rapp as vice president and senior analyst on its equity team, which manages the firm’s flagship relative value equity strategy and Maximus long/short equity hedge fund.

Rapp’s background is as a senior analyst for value-oriented long equities and long/short equity funds.

He also has experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings and private equity.

"At M.D. Sass, our equity team is tasked with identifying mispriced equities where market perceptions lag reality and attractive opportunities that others fail to discern. We strive for investments with hidden strengths and take advantage of market inefficiencies," says Martin D. Sass (pictured), chief executive of M.D. Sass. "Jason’s experience in sourcing and analysing a variety of equity investments reinforces our commitment to rigorous forensic research on compelling equities outside the bounds of conventional wisdom."

Previously, Rapp was a senior analyst at OSS Capital Management for its long/short hedge fund. There, he was a generalist responsible for more than USD500m in long and short equity investments at peak, with portfolio management responsibility and trading authorisation.

Rapp was also a senior analyst at Pierce Street Capital Management for its long/short hedge fund. Earlier, he held positions in the mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings and private equity spaces.
