GLG, an investment manager and division of Man Group, has boosted its event driven team with the appointment of Simon Freeman as an asset manager.
Freeman will report to Gerard Griffin, who joined GLG from Tisbury Capital Management earlier this year to lead and expand its event driven strategies.
Freeman joins from Credit Suisse where he was managing director of trading for event driven strategies. Prior to that, he was senior managing director of trading for event driven strategies at Bear Stearns where he managed the USD1bn European book. He was previously director and portfolio manager at UBS O’Connor.
Griffin says: "Simon brings a wealth of experience to our team and will be a valuable addition as we grow our business. We believe that event driven investments will provide strong returns over the coming years, fuelled in no small part by renewed M&A activity."
