Alternative Ucits funds recorded more losses last month with the UCITS Alternative Index Global shedding another 1.33 per cent to leave it down 3.85 per cent for the year. All strategies were in the red in what was a hugely turbulent month for global markets. As investors pulled risk firmly off the table, the strategies that were hit the hardest were Emerging Markets and Commodities: losing 6.67 per cent and 4.01 per cent respectively. That means Emerging Market strategies are now down 11.69 per cent YTD. Losses in FX, Equities, CTA and Macro ranged from -0.11 per cent to -1.59 per cent. For the year, Commodities is the only strategy to be in positive territory, albeit marginally at just +0.10 per cent. After Emerging Markets, the next worst performing strategy is Equity L/S, down 5.42 per cent, followed by Fund of Funds (-4.08 per cent) and FX (-3.75 per cent).
