Gottex Brokers opens London office

Gottex Brokers, an interdealer broker in interest rate derivative products and a specialist in Swiss interest rate derivatives, has opened a London office focusing on agency brokerage. 

 
The new office, based on Savile Row, will provide credit trading services in structured credits and rates, global high yield and investment grade credits, servicing both existing and new institutional clients in the UK/ Europe, the Middle East and around the world.
 
The new office will manage relationships with institutional investors such as asset managers, hedge funds, family offices and pension funds.
 
The opening of the new office is in line with Gottex Brokers’ strategy to expand both its product offering and its geographical coverage. Based in Lausanne and Munich, Gottex Brokers recently opened an office in the US focusing on the broking of alternative assets.
 
Raphael Moreno, chief executive of Gottex Brokers, says: “We are delighted to have expanded our offering in London, enabling us to better service our clients and offer them access to the credit markets directly from a regulated centre.”
 
In London, the new credit team comprises Robert Burns, Abid Hussain and Elka Truchan. Burns joins Gottex Brokers from Avoca Capital, where he was director of sales and marketing, with over 20 years of experience in sales, trading and asset management. Hussain joins Gottex Brokers from Kleinwort Benson where he was head of high-yield fixed income. He was previously at Citigroup, where he traded high-yield and investment grade credit. Truchan joins Gottex Brokers from Vyapar Capital Market Partners, where she was director, e-commerce and sales. Prior to that she worked for Phoenix Partners and HSBC.
 
To optimise global coverage part of the team comprising of Dr Patrick Knaus and Frederic Vibert will be based in Lausanne. Knaus joins Gottex Brokers from UBS, where he was most recently executive director of the rates and structured notes department, heading trading desks in Europe and Asia. Vibert joins Gottex Brokers from the agency brokerage of GFI Group, where he was head of fixed income and FX for Europe and Middle East.
