Ruta Ziverte has joined Oppenheimer Funds as a senior portfolio manager in the newly formed Multi-Sector Fixed Income team, reporting to Michael Mata (pictured), head of the new Multi-Sector Fixed Income team, which looks across global debt markets for attractive opportunities.

Mata also continues as lead portfolio manager for Oppenheimer Global Strategic Income Fund and a portfolio manager of Oppenheimer Global High Yield Fund. Ziverte joins the firm from GE Asset Management, where she was a high yield portfolio manager.

Mata, Ziverte and research analyst Anuranjan Sharma comprise the new team, which oversees multi-sector fixed income investment strategies for the firm, and in particular, management of the Multi-Sector Fixed Income strategy.

The Fixed Income team also recently added two senior client portfolio managers. Ira Jersey joined the firm in New York as the senior client portfolio manager for the Fixed Income teams, including Investment Grade, Global Debt and Multi-Sector Fixed Income. Jersey had been at Credit Suisse, where he was head of U.S. Interest Rate Strategy. Taylor Watts joined in Denver as the senior client portfolio manager for the High Yield Corporate Debt team. Watts had been at Knight Capital Group, where he was a managing director focused on trading below-investment grade debt with institutional accounts.

"Ruta's extensive background and far-ranging insight in high yield make her an outstanding addition to the multi-sector team, a critical area within our Fixed Income group," says Chief Investment Officer Krishna Memani. "Additionally, Ira and Taylor's comprehensive knowledge and experience provide further depth in our coverage model, enhancing our work with clients."
