Investment funds specialist joins Ogier in Guernsey

Craig Cordle, a specialist in investment funds, has joined Ogier as a group partner based in the Guernsey investment funds team.

Cordle (pictured), who comes to Ogier from a major international London firm, is the third new member of the firm's partnership since August, and brings the size of the global partnership to 53.

The growth of the Guernsey investment funds team reflects Ogier's confidence in the sector – the most recent figures showed that the net value of funds under management and administration in Guernsey had reached nearly a quarter of a trillion pounds after four consecutive quarters of growth, with further positive signs including the launch of the new manager-led product and private investment fund regime.

Guernsey practice partner Marcus Leese says that Cordle is a welcome addition to the team.

"Investment funds has always been at the heart of our Guernsey practice and this is an area where we still see the potential for further significant growth,” says Leese. “Craig's many years of experience in the sector and his expertise in structuring, establishing and restructuring investment funds, as well as the listing of investment vehicles, is the perfect way to bolster our strong existing team. We are delighted to welcome Craig to the partnership and to the Ogier family."

Cordle says: "Having spent many years advising on the establishment and structuring of offshore investment vehicles, many of which are based in Guernsey, I am delighted to join the Ogier team to continue that work. Fundraising in some sectors has been difficult over the past year, however with a New Year on the horizon, and a recent increase in viable investment opportunities out in the market, I am confident for a successful year ahead.

“The ability of Guernsey to evolve quickly, as we have seen with the recent launches of the new manager-led product and private investment fund regime, and to continue to offer the very best in service and execution will be key to this success."
