Two members have joined Duff & Phelps’ UK compliance and regulatory consulting (CRC) team.

Derek Taylor and Fergus Allan have both been appointed as managing directors in the firm’s London consulting team.

With over 20 years’ experience in banking and capital markets, Taylor is a risk management and compliance and regulatory change specialist. He has previously worked as a partner at Grant Thornton UK, head of risk management and compliance IT practices at EY, Capco and MA Partners, and in various roles with investment banks such as Citi, RBS and Investec.

Allan joins Duff & Phelps from PwC where for over four years he helped clients overcome complex organisational, compliance and operational challenges. He has worked for over 20 years in financial services, as a regulator at the Financial Services Authority, in industry in senior compliance and operations roles and with several other established consultancies, including KPMG.

Monique Melis (pictured), managing director and head of regulatory consulting at Duff & Phelps, says: “We are thrilled to be welcoming these high-performing professionals to Duff & Phelps’ CRC team. We have been looking to expand this area of our business for some time, and we are confident that Derek and Fergus bring the precise skills and qualities needed to achieve this.

“The current climate makes their appointments even more timely. The UK is still subject to complex European regulations, and remains so now Article 50 has been triggered. In this ever-changing environment, companies need to ensure that they are abiding by existing legislation whilst efficiently responding to any changes. With their long and impressive backgrounds in compliance and regulation, the new appointments are well-positioned to bring this security to both our clients and to Duff & Phelps itself.”
