Hedge fund Castlegrove Capital Management Ltd is to use SunGard's FRONT ARENA to manage its new Global Micro fund.
The fund employs an equity-focused strategy covering Long/Short Equity, Equity Derivatives and Capital Structures.
Castlegrove Capital, set up by three ex-managing directors of JPMorgan's Global Equity derivatives group, will take advantage of multi-asset opportunities utilising the Variance Swaps, CFDs, Credit and Equity Derivatives and Convertible Bonds functionality within FRONT ARENA, including cross-asset pricing, analytics, position and risk management. FRONT ARENA offers the benefits of a packaged hedge fund solution, with an Extension Framework that gives Castlegrove the flexibility to add proprietary models and connect to third party systems, prime brokers and fund administrators.
'We selected FRONT ARENA because of its cross asset trading, real time P/L, and risk management capabilities,' says Christian Dalban, chief executive, Castlegrove Capital. 'The SunGard solution is providing us with the stable and robust platform we needed to help us grow our business and, importantly, one which we were also able to implement in a relatively tight timeframe.'
Peter Banham, global head of product and marketing at SunGard's FRONT ARENA business unit, adds: 'Castlegrove joins a growing number of hedge funds that are turning to SunGard FRONT ARENA to help them automate their cross asset class trading operations and provide the high standards of transparency and risk reporting required by institutional investors.'
