BTIG adds CTO

BTIG has appointed Pawan Misra as Managing Director and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) based in New York. As CTO, he will be responsible for helping to develop and deploy technologies across the firm.

“We are pleased to welcome Pawan to the BTIG leadership team,” says Scott Kovalik, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. “Pawan will lead the development of next generation technologies, strengthen critical infrastructure, and play a key role in shaping the technology agenda across our businesses worldwide.”
 
Misra, who joins the firm’s Global Operating Committee, has nearly 30 years of industry experience. Prior to BTIG, he ran High Performance Hosting at Credit Suisse, as Global Head of Low Latency Electronic Trading Infrastructure and GRID Computing. He focused on engineering and maintaining solutions for the firm’s electronic trading clients, internal market making systems and proprietary dark pool. Misra was also responsible for developing a global public cloud connectivity platform at the firm for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS connectivity worldwide. Earlier in his career, he was Global Head of Databases at Bloomberg, where he held several roles between 2003 and 2011. Misra was a Quant Developer at PDT and Morgan Stanley, responsible for designing and deploying PDT’s fully automated model of an equities pairs trading system. He began his career as a Systems Manager at D E Shaw.
