Meraki Global Advisors has appointed David C Laub Jr as a senior trader in the New York office. Meraki’s client base has expanded among the tri-state multi-asset hedge fund community since the establishment of its New York outpost in April 2020, led by the firm’s Head of Business Development, Michael Ashby.Laub’s expertise across asset classes will further enhance the services Meraki provides to its sophisticated client base.

“We are excited to welcome David to the Meraki team,” says Gregory Sutton, COO at Meraki Global Advisors. “As a 20 year veteran of the hedge fund industry, he has valuable expertise across asset classes and market cycles. He brings deep street relationships and is the caliber of trader our clients have come to expect from us.”

Prior to joining Meraki, Laub was the Head of Trading at Sanoor Capital where he focused on equities, FX, and derivatives. Previously, he was a sector trader at Millennium Limited Partners and Head of Trading at Hunter Global Investors. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director at Cowen and Company where his roles included relationship management as well as risk assessment on the equity trading desk. He earned a BA in political science from Colgate University.

Meraki Global Advisors was founded with a rebellious determination to deliver conflict-free outsourced trading services to Asset Managers. By fully integrating into the client’s investment process, Meraki provides a pure buy-side experience more akin to “co-sourcing” than traditional “outsourcing”. Fully independent, the firm is able to offer bespoke solutions to help its clients manage complex strategies across the globe and in every asset class.
