Goldman Sachs rates MD quits for hedge fund role

Goldman Sachs’s head of emerging markets rates Amir Fais trading has announced he is leaving the firm after 15 years to start a ‘new part’ of his career, which will reportedly see him take a up a role with a hedge fund, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Fais hasn’t yet revealed which firm he will be joining, although the report says ‘multiple sources’ have confirmed that his next destination will be a hedge fund. 

Fais was made MD at Goldman in 2013 and was mentored by Kunal Shah, Goldman Sachs’ head of emerging markets trading, who was promoted to partner at the age of 27.
