Hong Kong-based offshore funds lawyer Eason Huang has rejoined Appleby as a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong and a partner in the firm’s Shanghai office after all most three years as a counsel at Carey Olsen.
Huang has almost 10 years of offshore experience specialising in the structuring, formation, organisation and operation of all types of open- and closed-ended funds, and their related investment management entities. He counsels funds in all stages of their operations, and regularly advises them on fund formation and governance matters.
Huang also has significant experience in representing a wide range of sponsors on fund formation matters, as well as a select group of institutional investors in making investments in both private equity and hedge funds around the region. He also has knowledge in assisting on crypto-related fund launches.
Huang is a native Mandarin speaker and fluent in English and Cantonese. He has extensive experience in handling PRC clients including mainland Chinese fund managers, fund sponsors, venture capitalists, and local Hong Kong SFC licensed fund managers.
