Stanley Sheriff, a former Goldmans Sachs rates trader who has worked at FRW, LMR Partners, Millennium and Taula Capital Management since leaving the bank in 2018, will join Balyasny’s Dubai operation having spent under a month at Taula, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Sheriff was reportedly set to run an investment team at Taula, when the firm, founded by former Millennium PM Diego Magia, begins trading later this year.
The report cites multiple unnamed sources in revealing that Sheriff is now expected to build a macro team in Dubai instead with Balaysny, which, despite its historical focus on long-short equity, is becoming increasingly active in the macro space.
