BNP Paribas has named former Jain Global portfolio manager Kavi Gupta as head of fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) trading for the Americas, according to a report by Bloomberg.
Gupta joined the bank in June from Jain Global, the approximately $6bn multi-strategy hedge fund founded by Bobby Jain, where he served as a senior portfolio manager focused on fixed income and global macro strategies.
In his new role, Gupta will oversee BNP Paribas’ trading businesses across rates, foreign exchange, commodities, repo, options and secondary credit markets throughout the Americas.
He will partner closely with Heather Orrico, the bank’s head of FICC sales for the Americas, and report jointly to John Gallo, head of global markets Americas, and Arne Groes, global head of FICC.
Before joining Jain Global in 2025, Gupta held a number of senior positions at Bank of America, including roles covering global rates trading, trading analytics and counterparty portfolio management. He began his career at Goldman Sachs.
