Point72 has strengthened its global macro investment platform with the appointment of a senior trading executive from AQR Capital Management, continuing the hedge fund’s investment in discretionary macro capabilities, according to a report by eFianncial Careers.
Vinod Addidam has joined Point72 as Global Head of Macro Trading Strategy, where he reports to Global Head of Macro Mo Grimeh. He is based in the firm’s Stamford, Connecticut office.
Addidam arrives after more than a decade at AQR Capital Management, where he most recently served as Global Head of Equities and Commodities Trading. In that role, he also oversaw the firm’s capital markets and arbitrage trading activities.
Before joining AQR in 2014, Addidam spent seven years at Deutsche Bank, rising from MBA associate to director. During his tenure, he led the bank’s emerging markets delta-one and arbitrage trading business.
