Jain Global is expanding its Asian presence with new hires and additional office space in Hong Kong as Bobby Jain’s multi-strategy hedge fund prepares to transition away from external investors and manage capital exclusively for Millennium Management, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The firm has agreed to increase the size of its Hong Kong office by 50% from early 2027, according to people familiar with the matter. The additional space will accommodate about 25 more employees.
Hong Kong currently accounts for around 60% of Jain Global’s approximately 75 staff in Asia, underlining the importance of the region to the firm’s expansion strategy.
The firm has continued recruiting across Asia even as it prepares for its new relationship with Millennium. Recent additions include Jordan Miyakawa from IMC Trading, who is joining as a discretionary macro portfolio manager in Singapore, and Matthieu Millot from HSBC, who will focus on single-stock derivatives.
Jain Global has also hired Ian Wong, formerly of Balyasny Asset Management, as an industrials-focused portfolio manager.
The expansion comes despite some high-profile departures. Amir Ravan, a Singapore-based portfolio manager specialising in precious metals and one of Jain Global’s stronger performers last year, is leaving to become head of commodities at Dymon Asia Capital.
Jain Global reportedly declined to comment.
