Marex has appointed Allison DiClemente as global head of capital introduction, putting her in charge of a 13-person team tasked with helping hedge fund managers connect with institutional investors across key global markets.
DiClemente, who is based in New York, joined Marex Prime Services in May 2024 as an executive director after two decades in the financial services industry. She spent 15 years at Barclays Corporate & Investment Bank, where she held the role of director of capital introduction and business development.
At Marex, DiClemente has been involved in developing the firm’s capital-introduction business, which is focused particularly on emerging hedge fund managers seeking to build relationships with institutional allocators.
Her new remit will cover the Americas, UK, Middle East and Asia as Marex expands the global reach of its prime services offering.
Marex said its capital-introduction platform is designed around the requirements of newer hedge fund managers, with a specialist allocator network aimed at investors actively looking for opportunities in this part of the market.
The business currently provides access to approximately 2,100 institutional investors, investment advisers and family offices globally. Marex has capital-introduction professionals operating from New York, San Francisco, Dallas, São Paulo, London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The firm said its approach combines an understanding of individual hedge fund managers and their investment strategies with knowledge of allocator preferences, allowing introductions to be more closely matched to investor mandates.
DiClemente’s appointment comes as hedge fund managers continue to compete for institutional allocations in an increasingly crowded alternatives market, where access to allocators can be particularly important for newer and smaller managers seeking to scale assets.
Marex has increasingly positioned prime services as a broader relationship with hedge fund clients rather than simply a financing and execution function, with capital introduction providing an additional channel through which the firm can support managers as they seek to raise and retain institutional capital.
