The Credit Suisse Liquid Alternative Beta Index was up 0.48 per cent in December, according to Dr Jordan Drachman, head of alternative beta strategies at Credit Suisse.
The index was up 7.35 per cent for the year in 2013.
The Managed Futures strategy was the strongest performer for the month, finishing up 1.01 per cent in December.
The Event Driven strategy was the strongest performing strategy in 2013, returning 10.88 per cent.
