Balyasny Asset Management has recruited another portfolio manager from Eisler Capital, with Nikoloaos Rapanos joining the multi-strategy major’s macro trading team in London, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.
Rapanos spent around 18 months at Eisler in his first full portfolio manager role. Before that, he worked for six years at global macro hedge fund Caxton Associates, where he served as a sub-portfolio manager within the firm’s global macro team. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Goldman Sachs and holds a PhD in finance.
His move follows a series of hires by Balyasny of former Eisler Capital staff, including Tibor Kucs to lead an equities quantitative research team, and systematic equities portfolio manager Alexander Alekseev who is building out a new team at Balyasny.
