Blockstream Capital Partners (BCP) is expanding its institutional investment platform with the acquisition of Corbiere Capital Management, a Jersey-based equities and event-driven hedge fund firm founded by former BlueCrest CIO Rodrigo Rodriguez.
The deal will fold Corbiere into a newly created asset-management arm, Blockstream Capital Management, where Rodriguez will serve as CIO. BCP said the acquisition strengthens its strategy of combining traditional investment expertise with bitcoin-linked capabilities aimed at global institutions seeking diversified alternatives exposure.
Corbiere, launched in 2023, brings a team with backgrounds in global equities, corporate actions and tactical trading. Rodriguez previously held senior investment roles at JPMorgan and Credit Suisse before joining BlueCrest, where he ran the firm’s event-driven portfolio.
BCP will also draw on its strategic partnership with digital-asset custody firm Komainu, which will provide corporate services, custody, exchange connectivity and collateral management via its off-exchange settlement platform, Komainu Connect. BCP said the arrangement enhances its ability to offer integrated infrastructure for both traditional and Bitcoin-referenced strategies.
BCP managing partner PeterPaul Pardi said the acquisition marks a significant step in building what the firm describes as a global institutional Bitcoin-referenced investment platform, adding that Corbiere’s expertise is “complementary” to BCP’s alpha-driven approach.
Rodriguez said the move comes at a time when activity is increasing among listed companies holding Bitcoin on balance sheet, making the link between token treasury management and equity-market pricing more important for investors.
The acquisition forms part of BCP’s broader push to establish a multi-strategy platform integrating event-driven, equity and bitcoin-linked investments under a unified institutional framework.
