Bloomberg unveils customisable real-time news feeds to enhance systematic trading workflows

Related Topics

Bloomberg has expanded its Real-Time News Feeds to allow clients to customise subscriptions, delivering machine-readable news content enriched with advanced analytics, proprietary sentiment models, and granular metadata tagging.

The move aims to streamline integration of news into systematic trading, risk management, and quantitative workflows.

The enhanced feeds feature “tickerised” versions, enabling firms to receive targeted news on specific companies, securities, and macro themes, reducing the need for manual processing. The data can be directly integrated into automated market-making, event-driven, and quantitative trading systems.

Drawing on Bloomberg News’ global network of more than 100 bureaus and over 5,000 daily stories, the feeds include coverage of 220,000 entities, 10,000 topics, and 660,000 individuals, supplemented by over 175,000 web and social media sources. The suite incorporates News Analytics, which provides Company Sentiment scores and Market Moving News indicators, estimating short-term market move probabilities based on story publication.

A new component, News Insights, aggregates news at the entity level, supporting systematic applications such as risk monitoring and anomaly detection. It offers real-time analysis on news intensity, major themes, and short-term sentiment trends for individual entities.

End-of-day packages for Bloomberg’s Textual News and News Analytics feeds are available via Bloomberg Data License, accessible through the Bloomberg Terminal and major cloud providers.
