Braver Stern Securities, an independent broker-dealer, has appointed Peter D. Howard as a managing director and head trader of CDOs, CLOs and esoteric asset-backed securities.
Howard has extensive experience in specialised asset-backed securities products, and will be instrumental in developing these business lines at Braver Stern.
Joseph Valentine, head of fixed income trading, says: “The addition of Peter is another step towards our goal of growing the firm by building out strategic business lines with the addition of talented people. We are extremely pleased to have Peter join us to develop our capabilities in this important market segment. Peter’s experience and insights will be extremely valuable to our clients.”
"The opportunity to join Braver Stern’s experienced and well-respected team was an extremely appealing one,” adds Howard. “I look forward to working with them to help to grow the business, expand the existing platform and continue their current success."
Howard joins Braver Stern from Cross Point Capital, where he most recently served as head trader focused on all securitised products.
Prior to that, he spent three years with Peloton Partners as a partner and head of the Peloton ABS Master Fund.
Howard previously served as director of portfolio optimization at Dresdner Bank in London, and began his career as a vice president and ABS portfolio manager at BNP Paribas.
