Boston-based Brighton House Associates, which provides investor leads to the hedge fund industry, has announced the upgrade of its SalesDesk search engine, which offers access to its proprietary network of 35,000 investors.
Up to now, hedge fund managers have been able to search Brighton House’s network using their strategy, asset size and track record to find investors that had informed the firm’s research analysts that were searching for a fund fitting their particular profile.
Brighton House has now augmented the SalesDesk parameters to allow managers to search for investors using factors including their sector and geographical focus, expected return and historic volatility. The system now uses 18 parameters to help match hedge funds to investor mandates.
‘The hedge fund industry is a blind sales environment,’ says Brighton House chief executive Daniel McDermott. ‘Because of governmental regulations, hedge funds and fund of funds have little to go on in terms of lead generation and efficient marketing. Our goal is to reduce the time it takes for managers to find investors that are a great match for their strategy.
‘Brighton House hopes to revolutionise hedge fund marketing by pooling the resources of a large team of research analysts who speak with 200 to 300 investors a day out of a global network of 35,000 hedge fund investors. The huge amount of hedge fund and fund of funds manager searches we collect from investors allows clients of all types to search for and find investors that are actively looking for a fund of their type.
‘With the increased search parameters that we have added on SalesDesk, Brighton House’s platform continues to make the sales and marketing of hedge fund vehicles easier and faster than before.’
Founded in 2006, Brighton House says SalesDesk is the only on-demand tool for streamlining the investor lead generation process. Its customers include Wall Street brokerage houses, hedge funds, funds of hedge funds and industry service providers.
