Sam Finkelstein, a former Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, has joined Citadel as a Senior Portfolio Manager to lead a new development program for its fixed income and macro business, according to a report by Reuters.
The reports cites Citadel as confirming that in his newly created role, Finkelstein will manage risk and trade in the hedge fund’s global fixed income and macro business. He will also oversee and advise a talent development programme for aspiring portfolio managers at the $56bn multi-strategy hedge fund firm.
Finkelstein, who will be based in Citadel’s London office, spent 26 years at Goldman Sachs, first joining the business in 1997 as an analyst after a stint as a Foreign Exchange Trader at UBS. He rose to the position of Co-CIO for Global Fixed Income and Global Head of GSAM’s emerging market franchise before rising to CIO of Fixed Income and Liquidity Solutions in early 2022.
