Derivatives marketplace CME Group saw average daily volume (ADV) hit 29.6m contracts in February, an increase of 5% on the figure reported for February 2023 and the second highest ADV on record for the month.
The company’s interest rate complex ADV also reached a new all-time record of 17.2m contracts in February, driven by trading of US Treasury contracts. US Treasury futures and options ADV hit a record 10.9m contracts, while options ADV also achieved a record of 6.4m contracts.
ADV also increased by double-digits in energy and agricultural products.
