Ray Dalio has said he is focused on running his own investments via his family office and is not plotting a return to Bridgewater Associates, the hedge fund firm he founded back in 1975, according to a report by Business Insider.
The report quotes Dalio as responding to questions about his future at this week’s Greenwich Economic Forum by saying, “Don’t trust the media”, in reference to a recent New York Times report suggesting that he was considering retiring to Brdigewater.
Instead, Dalio said he is focused on his family office operation, which is establishing a presence in Abu Dhabi and currently hiring in the US and Singapore, and has plans to write another book, and spending time with his family while “savouring life and the things I like to do.”
