London-based global macro and systematic trading investment manager DG Partners has appointed Tony Fenner-Leitao to head marketing and business development in relation to Systematic Strategies in North America. He will be based in San Francisco.
David Gorton, DG Partners’ Chief Investment Officer, says: “I am thrilled to be able to secure Tony’s services for the DG Partners group. Tony brings to the firm a wealth of highly relevant experience from his days at Winton Capital (where he was CEO) and latterly at Passport Capital. He will help to spearhead the growth of our business in the United States, capitalising on the great support of Brevan Howard, my joint venture partner in BH-DG Systematic Trading LLP.”
Fenner-Leitao was previously Managing Director and Global Head of Sales & Marketing at Passport Capital in San Francisco. Prior to joining Passport, Fenner-Leitao was Chief Executive Officer of Winton Capital in London. Fenner-Leitao has over 25 years of experience of working in financial markets for both asset management firms as well as investment banks, including Goldman Sachs and UBS in London and New York. Fenner-Leitao received a BA from Durham University in England and an MBA (with Honours) from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
“Joining DG Partners now in this new role was an exceptional opportunity given the DG platform and partnership with Brevan Howard,” says Fenner-Leitao. “I believe DG Partners’ focus on global macro and systematic trend following strategies will continue to be among the most compelling for professional investors given the return of volatility and opportunity to generate superior uncorrelated risk adjusted returns.”
