EEX acquires Grexel Systems

The European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) has completed the acquisition of Grexel Systems Oy, a provider of energy certificate registries in Europe. The company currently operates 15 energy certificate registries in Europe.

With this transaction, EEX Group is expanding its activities in the registry business and will be able to actively develop the markets for guarantees of origin for renewable and other forms of energy. As part of EEX Group, Powernext already operates register solutions for guarantees of origin and other certificates in France.
