Hedge fund Elliott Management Corp and Vista Equity Partners are planning to acquire Citrix Systems Inc in a deal that values the US cloud computing company at about USD13 billion, according to a report by Reuters.
Elliot and Vista have jointly turned to the loan market to fund a USD104 per share bid for the company, with said to be planning to combine Citrix with portfolio company Tibco, another data analytics software provider, according to ‘a person familiar with the matter’.
The cash bid, which is lower than Citrix’s closing price of USD105.55 on Friday, still represents a premium to the lows seen in December.
