Engagement strategies employed by fund managers, which are designed to force companies to pollute less, are a ‘collective failure’ according to hedge fund boss Chris Hohn.
A report by BNN Bloomberg quotes the TCI Fund Management chief executive at this week’s Bloomberg Intelligence ESG Investment Forum in London as saying: “We should stop pretending and be honest. The acid test is actual emissions, are they falling or are they rising? And they’re rising. And that’s where the rubber hits the road.”
