Millennium Management, the multi-strategy hedge fund major founded by Izzy Englander, has tapped another Goldman Sachs executive – the bank’s Global Treasurer, Philip Berlinski – for a senior management role at the New York-based firm.

The report cites two unnamed people familiar with the situation, as confirming that Berlinski is Goldman after 24 years, to take up the position of Co-Chief Operating Officer at Millennium.

Berlinski is the that latest in a line of Goldman Alumni to jump ship to join Millennium, with partners Paul Russo, Scott Rofey and Jeffrey Verschleiser, moving in 2021 to lead the risk management of the Millennium’s equity, macro and rates, and credit divisions respectively. Another former Goldman partner meanwhile, Justin Gmelich, joined in 2022 as Co-Chief Investment officer alongside the promoted Russo.

Berlinski joined Goldman as an equity derivatives research analyst in 1998, before climbed to roles that included chief operating officer of global equities. He was appointed the bank’s global treasurer in 2021.
