Maria João Carioca, chief executive of Euronext Lisbon and member of the managing board of Euronext, has resigned after being asked by the Government of Portugal to join the management board of Caixa Geral de Depósitos.
She has accepted the offer, pending all regulatory approvals by the relevant authorities.
“We are very proud that Maria João has been selected to serve her country in this new role. Meanwhile, Euronext is committed to continuing to invest in Portugal where it is expanding its IT centre in Porto which should amount to 120 people by the end of the year. We will work together with Maria João to ensure a seamless transition during the first quarter of 2017, until her successor arrives,” says Stéphane Boujnah (pictured), chairman and CEO of the managing board of Euronext.
