Multi-strategy hedge fund Balyasny Asset Management saw four portfolio managers depart its stock-picking business in early August, with two known to be heading to rival multi-manager firms, according to a report by Business Insider.
The $20 billion fund, which is trailing its peers in performance so far this year with a 1.3% return to the end of July, parted company with Neville Irani, Colin Kronewitter, Ben Shapiro, and Jason Temerowski.
Temerowski, a financials PM who has been at Balyasny since 2004, according to his LinkedIn bio, is reportedly joining ExodusPoint, while Shapiro, a healthcare PM who joined Balyasny in May 2021 after five years with Surveyor Capital, is also said to have resigned to join another multi-manager firm.
