The managed futures industry posted a -1.33% loss in November following three consecutive months of gains, according to the Barclay CTA Index, compiled by BarclayHedge. Year-to-date, the managed futures industry has returned 8.24%, posting gains in nine of the past 12 months.
The Oregon Public Employees Retirement System has committed a total of around $1.6 billion to 11 alternative investment funds, including hedge funds, according to a report by Pensions & Investments Online.
The allocations were confirmed by the Oregon Investment Council Council, which oversees the pension system’s investments, and the Oregon Common School Fund which it also oversees.
The new commitments include several hedge fund investments including a total of $255 million to Bridgewater Pure Alpha Major Markets II – $250 million from the pension fund and $5 million for the Common School Fund. A total of $207.5 million has also

Aaro Capital, a specialist in cryptoassets and DLT investments, has launched a second flagship investment strategy – the Aaro Market Neutral Crypto Multifund – an institutional quality fund of funds offering market neutral access to cryptoassets via a diversified, risk-managed approach.
Aaro Capital says the new fund will seek “to capitalise on short term market inefficiencies in a risk-controlled manner while protecting against the high volatility of the asset class”.
The fund will be available to institutional and other professional investors through either a Cayman-based fund or a Luxembourg-domiciled SICAV

Belstar Management Company, a global credit investment firm, has launched a new flagship credit fund, Belstar Credit Opportunities Fund, to invest across liquid and private credit opportunities, including both corporate and structured credit assets, globally.

Maitri Capital, an FCA-regulated hedge fund firm, has launched two Web3 and digital assets market funds, which will look to make investments in a diverse portfolio of asset classes.
The first fund will target investments in both locked and unlocked tokens, equity, staking programmes and liquid tokens, while the second fund will focus on backing non-fungible tokens (NFTs), decentralised finance (DeFi), and metaverse projects, as part of a portfolio diversification strategy.
