The gross return of the SS&C Technologies’ SS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index for June 2022 measured 0.00%. Hedge fund flows as measured by the SS&C GlobeOp Capital Movement Index declined -0.12% in July. “SS&C GlobeOp’s Capital Movement Index for July 2022 of -0.12% should be viewed as a strong result in light of the seasonality of capital flows, which tend to run negative during the month. On a comparative basis, the -0.12% reflects decreased net outflows versus the -0.39% reported a year ago and is also the lowest level of July net outflows since 2011,” said Bill Stone, Chairman
Brilliance Asset Management’s flagship fund Brilliance Partners Funds returned 17% in June on the back of a rebound in Chinese stocks, reducing H1 losses to 14% in the process, according to a report by Bloomberg. Smaller stablemate, the Brilliance China Core Long Short Fund, meanwhile, was up 21% during the month, paring back first half losses to 16%. Both funds outperformed the benchmark China stock index over the the month. The MSCI China Index is still down 46% from a February 2021 high. Bhatt Innovation Capital LLC, a San Francisco Bay Area-based registered investment advisor, has launched three additional investment strategies for Pathfinder SMA, an asset management platform offering features normally available only to institutional and ultra high net worth investors. Twitter shares have been given a boost following news that hedge fund Hindenburg Research has taken a stake in the firm on the basis that it sees a “strong case” against Elon Musk for moving to back out of his $44 billion buyout bid, according to AFP.

Keystone Investors Pte, a hedge fund spinoff from Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, which began trading on 1 April, has now raised more than $750 million, according to a report by BNN Bloomberg. Schonfeld has backed the fund, which focuses on Greater China stocks, but the report cites Keystone Investors’ CEO Ken Tinkinson as saying that the majority of money has been raised from other investors. The fund is currently closed to new capital in a bid to manage asset size but plans to reopen in the fourth quarter, according to Tinkinson. Cheyne Capital Management is targeting €750 million for its latest fund which will focus on lending to European mid-cap forms not currently served by private equity investors, according to a report by Bloomberg. The report cites unnamed sources as saying that the fund’s investment approach will see Cheyne provide single and multi-tranche financing from first lien loans to preferred equity, with the fund, which will have a six or seven year lifespan,  set to focus on firms with earrings of between €10 million and €100 million.  Its target net return of 15% puts it inline with more opportunistic credit strategies,
