MSCI, a provider of research-based indexes and analytics, is to acquire all of the assets of Insignis, Inc, a data collection and aggregation service for the financial industry. Insignis provides daily automated collection, aggregation and management of financial data, including data on positions, transactions and complex instruments such as exchange-traded futures and options, OTC swaps and foreign exchange spot and forward contracts. Ultimus Fund Solutions’ Advisor Solutions group has been selected by 300 North Capital to provide shadow accounting and other middle office services for the firm’s three hedge funds and its separate accounts. Through the agreement, 300 North will leverage Ultimus’ best-in-class technology and industry knowledge to create a more efficient middle office operation, allowing the firm to devote its resources to managing money and diversifying its product offering. IRESS has made two separate acquisitions to boost its presence in both the capital markets and discretionary fund management space within the UK. The two businesses IRESS has acquired are Proquote, a leading provider of trading, market data and connectivity solutions in the UK, owned by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) since 2003; and Pulse Software Systems, a leading provider of portfolio management software for private asset managers.   Proquote plays an important and select role in retail trading and connectivity in the UK. Aberdeen Asset Management has struck a deal with Advance Emerging Capital Ltd (AEC) whereby Aberdeen will acquire 100 per cent ownership of the London-based investment company. AEC focuses on global emerging and frontier market equities. AEC is a London based specialist investment manager with nearly two decades of experience managing portfolios of primarily closed end, but also open end, fund-of-fund vehicles. As of 30 June 2015, the company managed GBP409 million across a range of investment funds. On 16-17 September the Fed will meet to decide whether or not to hike rates for the first time since 2006. The set of economic projections will reveal critical information about the Fed thinking. The market expects a dovish stance. The probability of a rate hike, based on Fed fund futures, is as low as 28 per cent. The probability is close to 40 per cent for the end-October meeting and reaches 59 per cent for December.
