BlueCrest Capital Management has added a new trader to its team with the appointment of Samuel Horwood from Goldman Sachs in London, where he spent eight years working on the bank’s emerging markets sales and trading desk, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Horwood’s decision to quit Goldman follows the departures of mentors Amir Fais and Benjamin Griguer, who both left the business earlier in May to take up portfolio manager positions at Eisler Capital and Pharo Management, respectively.

Horwood will also be taking on a portfolio manager at BlueCrest, where he will receive some 30% of his p&l in compensation, compared to around the 5% norm at banks.
