A former managing director at Standard Chartered and derivatives trader Yiming Liang, and the former chief investment officer of China’s Huatai Asset Management, Yang Yang, are planning to launch Goldstream Capital in April reported Reuters this week. The multi-strategy pan-Asian hedge fund will be known as the Goldstream Absolute Return Fund and is expected to commence trading with around USD50million, coming mainly from Asian family offices and HNW individuals. The fund will mainly focus on Greater China with Liang quoted as saying: “I think we would have some kind of strategic advantage. We have relationships, I have networks in China. From a long-term perspective, we actually want to make this as our edge from a business angle.”
