GPP, a prime broking, investor services and wealth solutions firm, has hired James Parker for the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
Parker will take on the newly-created role after over five years at Société Générale as European Head of Risk Management. His appointment is part of GPP’s strategic expansion of its senior leadership team and follows the recent hire of Todd Johnson as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Parker brings a wealth of experience to GPP from roles including Head of Clearing at JP Morgan and Executive Director of Valuations and Model Control Oversight at Lehman Brothers.
The firm is building out its management structure as it enters a new phase of growth after celebrating ten years in operation. Following its foundation as a custody and clearing firm in 2008, it now boasts growing prime brokerage and wealth solutions divisions as part of its evolution to become an internationally recognised, fully integrated financial services provider.
Julian Parker, CEO, GPP, says: “James’s appointment to the new CRO role highlights our commitment to growth. Bolstering the management team was a priority for the firm heading into 2019 and James adds great industry expertise and experience to GPP. I look forward to working alongside him.”
