Guernsey Financial Services Commission to appoint director of investment business

Related Topics

The post of director of investment business at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission will be advertised locally and in the Financial Times this week.

Peter Moffatt (pictured), the current director who joined the Commission in 2000, will retire from the role early next year.

Nik van Leuven, the director general of the GFSC, says: “I have known Peter since he joined the Commission. He brought to the role of director his own inimitable style, reinforced by a keen intellect and challenging approach. The high respect with which the funds sector is held externally owes much to his thought and care.”

The advertisement describes the director’s role as: “To lead the investment business division in supervising and regulating investment business under the superintendence of the commissioners, and in accordance with relevant legislation to high internationally acceptable standards and best practice.”

The closing date for applications is 5 November 2010.
