Intertrust bolsters fund services offering with senior appointments

Intertrust has announced a raft of senior appointments in fund services spanning some of its priority jurisdictions.  

James Donnan has been appointed as head of Fund Services for the Hong Kong office. In his role James will oversee the delivery of services to Intertrust’s alternative fund clients and will be responsible for leading the group’s private equity strategy across Asia. He was previously commercial director, Greater China for Intertrust, before which he spent 10 years with KPMG in Hong Kong, China and Australia, most recently as director in their financial services division.
 
Christine Jacquemart has been appointed as commercial director Fund Services in Luxembourg. She has over 20 years’ experience, previously working with Pictet & Cie (Europe) SA. Jacquemart will focus on developing Intertrust Fund Services covering fund administration and depositary for both regulated and unregulated Luxembourg alternative investment funds.
 
Harald Thul has been appointed as director of Alternative Investments Services, also in Luxembourg. He joined Intertrust in 2013 after 14 years working at PwC. Throughout his career in Intertrust, Thul has held the roles of Business Unit Director for the Capital Markets team and then after within the Real Estate team of Intertrust Luxembourg. In his new role he will be responsible for the coordination and development of the alternative investment structures (regulated and unregulated real estate and private equity structures).
 
Michael Johnson has been appointed as head of Funds in the Channel Islands. Previously Johnson was head of Fund Services for the Channel Islands at BNP Paribas, leading large professional teams across the Private Equity & Real Estate, Listed Funds and Corporate Services business areas. Before this he was vice president at Swiss Re Asset Management in London, having previously qualified as a chartered accountant at PwC in the Channel Islands. Johnson will be responsible for developing Intertrust’s funds strategy across the Channel Islands, building on Intertrust’s position as a leader in funds services globally.
 
Finally, Joost Broekhuis has been appointed as executive director of Capital Markets and Funds Services in their headquarters in Amsterdam. He will have a strong focus on risk management across the broader client portfolio in the Netherlands. He will also be responsible for further integration of the Capital Markets and Funds Services teams to develop a holistic offering to clients. Before this role, Broekhuis was business unit director of the private equity team for North America. He joined Intertrust in 2011, after having practiced as a corporate lawyer in international law firms for more than a decade.
