Jain Global continues to build-out team ahead of July 2024 launch

Jain Global, which is due to launch in July 2024 with an expected $8bn to $10bn in AUM, is continuing to build-out its team with Senior Investment Officer Robert Zellner, who joins from Corbin Capital Partners in New York, the latest recruit, according to a report by eFinancial Careers.

Zellner’s appointment takes the number of key people on Jain Capital’s team to 12, with the firm’s New York office already open and others planned for London, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Last week, James O’Callaghan, a 15-year veteran of UBS, has was appointed as head of trading in London, while Anton Merlushkin, the former head of quantitative analysis and technology at Credit Suisse has also added to Jain’s London team this month as head of quant modelling and analytics.

Jain’s other nine global hires include Sam Kellie-Smith, the ex-global head of fixed income trading at Morgan Stanley as the fund’s Head of Asia, Paul Enright, a former Viking Global portfolio manager, as chairman of fundamental equities, Townie Wells, a former Citadel portfolio manager as chief investment officer and head of fundamental equities, and Peter Bolland, who was last managing money for Schonfeld at Quantbot, as head of quantitative strategies.

Jaime Hobbeheydar meanwhile has joined as Head of Marketing and investor relations from Elliott, alongside Chief Administrative Officer, Thomas Levy, Chief Technology Officer, Matt Croy, and Chief Strategy Officer Daniel Bergelson, who was previously an AVP at Barclays.
