Jersey Finance has announced that Clive Boothman will head up its new representative office in London, which will officially open shortly to provide Jersey’s finance industry with a permanent presence in London.
As well as promoting Jersey as an international finance centre in the City, Boothman (pictured) will help broaden Jersey Finance’s reach to key professionals within the industry and strengthen the jurisdiction’s relationship with the City of London, the London Stock Exchange and trade bodies. He will also offer a point of contact for London-based media.
A chartered accountant, Boothman has significant experience of the London financial services industry. He spent 17 years working in a variety of senior roles for Schroders and was chief executive at both Gerrards and Cofunds.
Having previously worked in Jersey for Arthur Young McClelland Moores, now Ernst & Young, he also has an in-depth knowledge of the offshore marketplace. He has sat on a number of industry bodies including the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and the Treasury Advisory Panel.
‘London remains a key market for Jersey’s finance industry and we are committed to galvanising our already strong relationship with finance professionals, authorities and the media in the City,’ says Jersey Finance chief executive Geoff Cook.
‘Having an on-the-ground presence is vital, particularly in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Clive’s experience will be crucial in continuing to enhance Jersey’s reputation as a leading international finance centre amongst City professionals.’
