JP Morgan Asset Management has hired two seasoned private credit investors, Brad Demong and Leander Christofides, to join its Alternatives business as co-CIOs of a new Global Special Situations group.

Demong and Christofides previously held senior roles in JP Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank, most recently managing Leverage & Distressed Private Side Research and Trading for the EMEA region.  They left the firm in 2016, and will now re-join effective today. Demong and Christofides will be based in New York and London, respectively.

The team managed by Demong and Christofides will operate globally and will report into Co-Managing Partners of JP Morgan Global Alternatives, Anton Pil (pictured) and Chris Hayward.

“This move represents an immediate, significant expansion of our existing private credit offering in our alternatives business,” says Anton Pil, Managing Partner of JP Morgan Global Alternatives. “As we continue to focus on the growth of our alternatives platform, we are committed to providing a broad range of differentiated solutions for our clients globally.”

“Investors today are looking for access to unique opportunities across the credit spectrum, and Brad and Leander bring the kind of vast investment experience necessary to identify those opportunities,” says Chris Hayward, Managing Partner of JP Morgan Global Alternatives. “We are excited for Brad and Leander to join JP Morgan Global Alternatives and be part of our growth and expansion.”
