JP Morgan Asset Management this week rolled out an Emerging Markets Multi-Asset fund to invest primarily in debt and equity instruments of EM corporates and sovereign issuers reported Citywire Global. The Lux-domiciled SICAV is to be managed by Nadia Grant and the firm’s Global Multi Asset Group. It will target a yield of 3 to 3.5 per cent and use a futures overlay to try and profit from short-term tactical trades based on relative valuations and momentum signals. The portfolio will initially have a 50-50 weighting in equities and fixed income although JPMAM said that as the fund evolves Grant and the GMAG team will tactically allocate between asset classes and pursue the best ideas. Richard Titherington, CIO of EM equities, will manage the equity book whilst Pierre-Yves Bareau, CIO of EM debt, will manage the fixed income book.
