Kempen hires new managing director to lead expanding UK team

Related Topics

Kempen Capital Management (Kempen) has appointed Andre Keijsers as managing director of its UK office. Starting in August 2019, Keijsers will focus on the future growth of Kempen’s specialist actively-managed investment strategies, the firm’s growing UK fiduciary management business.

Keijsers joins Kempen from Vedra Partners, a family-led multi-family office. Prior to this, he worked as a Director at Kings Rock Global Investment Partners and Gottex Fund Management.

Andre Keijsers, newly appointed UK Managing Director at Kempen, says, ‘This is an exciting time to take up this role and I look forward to working with all of my new colleagues to maximise the opportunities that we see in the UK. There is a huge appetite for specialist investment products in the UK, and Kempen’s unique offering of focused and active strategies is particularly relevant in this fast-changing environment.

‘Fiduciary management also provides a huge opportunity for Kempen in the UK, as the pensions market undergoes a long-term and now accelerating wave of change. The drive towards greater cost transparency and value means that trustees need detailed support from real experts. Fiduciary management plays a vital role in helping institutional trustees meet their growing list of statutory duties, and I look forward to partnering with our clients in the UK to ensure they are best-positioned to utilise the right solutions.’

In addition, Kempen has also announced the appointment of Vicky Casebourne as Business Development Director specialising in Fiduciary Management and Cathy Lewis as Director Fiduciary Management.

Casebourne is leaving Charles Stanley where she has worked since February 2013, focusing on specialist sales for the Fiduciary Management team selling DB pension scheme asset liability matching investment solutions.

Cathy Lewis joins Kempen from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) where she has worked as Client Director since March 2016. She was lead on a large portfolio of DB and DC UK Institutional Clients and the first point of contact for bespoke client solutions and cross selling.

Johan Cras, Head of Institutional Relations and member of the management team at Kempen Capital Management, adds: ‘We are excited to see Andre Keijsers join our team. Alongside the continued success of our own investment products among UK investors, this is a critical time for fiduciary management. After recent positive legislative changes, 600 pension funds with fiduciary arrangements in place now need to re-tender in the near future. This is leading to increased opportunities for a fiduciary manager such as Kempen, and our ability to deliver bespoke solutions. The combined experience of Andre Keijsers, Vicky Casebourne and Cathy Lewis will be a great asset.’
