KNEIP, a service provider for the fund industry, has partnered with AssetLogic to launch the Fund Information Network.
Fund data management is ultimately the responsibility of the asset manager. For over 20 years, KNEIP has helped asset managers and administrators manage their fund data and documents to regulators, distribution networks, data vendors, platforms, and investors. But getting accurate data upstream within the asset manager’s ecosystem remains a challenge.
The Fund Information Network is an infrastructure that allows firms to share their fund data without replication. Instead of relying on emailing spreadsheets, which can result in errors and security breaches, AssetLogic’s network maintains data integrity and allows counterparties’ to efficiently manage their data.
The network is designed to work with existing IT systems and access to data is fully controlled by each individual firm. This transparency and control provides members of the network with complete security and an easy method of conducting audits.
Bob Kneip, CEO at KNEIP, says: “One of the biggest challenges facing the asset management industry today is the unprecedented level of regulatory change. New rules around transparency and reporting mean that data management is now a business critical issue and so there is a real opportunity for firms to put their data to work for them. It is not just a question of being efficient, it is about asset managers creating a real competitive advantage.
“AssetLogic’s new Fund Information Network makes it easier than ever for fund managers to do this. We’re excited to see how we can work together to create a complete service that helps the industry use its data for regulatory requirements and beyond.”
Based in Luxembourg, AssetLogic connects asset managers and their service providers to ensure that all data provided for use in regulatory reports and disclosures to investors is straightforward to collect, accurate and easy-to-share.
Sam Gilstrap, CEO of AssetLogic, says: “We believe we have created a truly unique, flexible framework that has the potential to fundamentally change the way that the asset management industry approaches data management.
“Partnering with KNEIP was a natural decision, as their business reflects the ultimate aim of the Fund Information Network. We make it easier and more efficient for the industry to collect, manage and share fund data, allowing KNEIP to then transform that information into a valuable and useful end product.”
