Laurent Bélik has been appointed as managing director of Elian in Luxembourg.
Bélik (pictured) was managing director of SFM Luxembourg for five years prior to the acquisition of SFM Europe by Elian in 2015. He now leads the combined Elian and SFM business in Luxembourg, which formally merged on 1 June. Bélik is responsible for the management and promotion of the business's diversified service offering, which includes corporate, capital markets, fund and private wealth solutions.
Prior to joining SFM Europe, Bélik was head of Doughty Hanson Luxembourg Real Estate. Over his 17 year career he has also held finance, administration and directorship roles at LaSalle Investment Management, as well as positions at ABN AMRO and Merrill Lynch.
Bélik’s appointment follows Stephen Osmont’s recent transfer from Jersey to Luxembourg as associate director of Elian's real estate and corporate divisions.
The Elian and SFM businesses have recently moved to new offices in the financial centre of Luxembourg, and following the merger, operate strategically and functionally as one company.
‘As a highly regarded company, I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead Elian in Luxembourg. The merger and integration of Elian and SFM Europe has significantly boosted Elian’s service capabilities, and I am looking forward to building on our already strong reputation for excellent client service,’ says Bélik.
Elian CEO, Paul Willing, adds: ‘As a premier private banking centre in the Eurozone and the second largest fund centre in the world, Luxembourg is a key location for Elian and many private and institutional investors from all over the world. Laurent brings a wealth of experience to Elian, and under his leadership, we look forward to further growth in our core service capabilities.’
